The music video for Lily Allen’s song ‘The Fear’ is gorgeous!

She looks fabulous. Her bow dress is by PPQ and is part of the 2009 Spring/Summer collection. Lily wears platform heels by Yves Saint Laurent. The outfit is divine!

How gorgeous is the ad campaign for the new Miss Dior fragrance (Miss Dior Chérie L’Eau )? I just love it! The perfume smells beautiful too. Check out the TVC by Sofia Coppola. The bubble dress in the print ad is too cute!

Picking flowers…..

My favourite style icon of the moment is SJP (or Patricia Field!).  One of the main trends in the SATC movie was floral prints. I usually steer clear of looking like a nana however some of the looks worn by SJP were really not grandma-ish at all!

The Dior Gladiator’s gave this lady like ensemble a rock star edge. I think the trick with floral is not to over do it on the nana accessories. Studded cuffs and shoes (Burberry Studded Strappy Shoes anyone? yes please!) give an edgier look to balance out the flower arrangement!

Here are my top floral trend items:

This print mini dress by 3.1 Phillip Lam contains just the right amount of floral.

Who can resist Miu Miu? These carved sandals are right on trend and totally gorgeous. I am NOT suggesting you wear the dress and these Miu Mius together. Steer clear of florals on top while wearing these….OTT is not cool.

So channel SJP and get into floral….while it lasts!

Shoe heaven

Firstly I’d like to say…how fantastic was Sex and the City?!! I loved it. I of course fell more in love with the Dior Gladiators than ever. Now every girl who adores shoes is probably out trying to purchase those little babies right now! I’ve found some gladiator-esque shoes that are also quite stunning. Here is my top pick:

Burberry Studded Strappy Shoes

These are just heaven!

Gucci by Gucci

I am in love with the new Gucci ad campaign. The movie was directed by David Lynch. The soundtrack is great and the girls dresses are sensational! The perfume smells pretty good too!

It’s so exciting when a new season is here. I love looking at (and purchasing!) the new must have pieces. This Winter I have already started a list of items to add to my wardrobe. Lists are key for new season shopping. It’s an easy way to work out which pieces will work with your current wardrobe.

The Blazer

The blazer is a must have for Winter 08. This piece will look fabulous with ruffle skirts. If you don’t want to look like you’re wearing a uniform then stick to a skirt or dress with feminine ruffles. Now is not the time to wear a tartan skirt! Kate Moss has included a blazer in her current collection for Topshop. It features a cute ‘K’ emblem and turned up sleeves.

Patent…everything

Patent is back in a big way. Nine West have some fantastic patent shoes in various colours. Also invest in a patent belt and bag as this look is really key for this season. Bright colours look fantastic in patent.

Grey all the way

Grey is the new black. Layer grey turtle necks and ribbed tights under dresses to make your Summer wardrobe last the distance. Cue have some nice grey turtle necks that are perfect for layering. Grey also complements the vibrant patent pieces.

Happy shopping!

Do you fluro?

Who can miss the fluro invasion that has hit the world of fashion?

Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Fendi have included extremely bright colours in their current collections.

I was a little skeptical at first. Seriously, do I want to walk around looking like a rainbow has thrown up on me? Well yes I do! Today I gave in and bought my first fluro item. It’s a singlet with pink, yellow and green fluro stripes all over it.

Now that I’ve tried this fluro trend I want more. Next up perhaps a bright bag or shoes.

Bright colours are a fantastic addition to the Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Marc Jacobs collection of bright pieces with dark tights is amazing. It’s such a nice change from the darker colours we usually see during the cooler months.

Try it this Winter.

Who do you dress for?

Some of us dress to impress. Some of us dress just because we have to. Looking at some of the latest fashion trends it’s clear that women do dress to impress other women. Lets face it high waisted skirts, smocks, bubble dresses, and leggings aren’t what a typical male would find attractive.

I have heard quite a few men in my office comment on these trends. Men don’t seem to understand why a woman would want to hide beneath a smock or increase the size of her derier with a bubble dress. My reply – IT’S FASHION!

I am definitely a fashion victim. Life is too short to play it safe. Yes my butt probably does look big in a bubble dress and perhaps I do look a bit like a ballerina in leggings but at least I’m having fun. By the way ballerina’s are so in right now….told you I am a fashion victim. See pic below from last weeks Melbourne Fashion Festival.

So next time you’re getting ready try dressing to impress yourself! It’s more fun :)

As promised here are some photos from L’Oreal Paris Runway.

Last nights show featured grey ribbed tights and lots of bright red. Patent shoes are also popular. Obviously with the colder weather looming grey tights are the way to go. Ribbed tights can now be found at Country Road.

Tonight at 6.30pm the first L’Oreal Paris Runway is on! Hosted by Harper’s BAZAAR the show is sure to be a hit. Designers include Camilla and Marc, Jayson Brunsdon, Marnie Skillings and a personal fave – Sass & Bide.  I’ll post some pics tomorrow.
